The Fundacion Consejo España- Estados Unidos, and the US-Spain Council, organise an annual forum which is held alternatively between Spain and the United States. Prominent representatives from both countries, as well as board members of both Councils, gather here to discuss current affairs and topics of mutual interest.
Some of the most important discussed issues have been: financial and business endorsement, analysis of economic sectors such as infrastructure, energy or technology. The triangular relation between Spain, the United States and Latin American is also debated every year.
Since the first forum, held in Seville in 1995, distinguished personalities, including H.R.H. the Prince of Asturias, Spanish Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence, the Ambassador of Spain in the United States, Presidents of the Autonomous Communities, Mayors of the different hosting cities, renowned government employees, politicians, business and cultural representatives, have attended the Spain-United States forums.
Amongst those who have assisted on behalf of the United States are: distinguished U.S. Senators and Congressmen, the Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, the Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, the Assistant Secretary of the Energy Department, the US Ambassador to Spain, the Director of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, as well as prominent businessmen.
