
The Fundación presented the Bernardo de Galvez Award to the Hispanic Society of America in Valencia, on October, 2nd, 2009.
For its second edition, the Foundation chose The Hispanic Society of America for its outstanding contribution to strengthen the cultural links between Spain and the US.
The award ceremony took place on Otober 2nd at the Fundación Bancaja in Valencia on the background of the Sorolla exhibition. Some of the exhibited paintings have been lend by the Hispanic Society, thus reinforcing the cultural bounds between both countries
With this award, created in 2007, the Fundacion Consejo España- Estados Unidos wants to honour and acknowledge the work, dedication, and role of those American citizens or institutions that have promoted cooperation, supported reciprocal knowledge exchange or developed initiatives that improved the relations between Spain and the United States.
