Breakfast with Mr. Rafael Catalá, Minister of Justice of Spain

The Fundación kept supporting the program of the Asociación de Líderes Hispanos in 2015. This sponsorship and collaboration took shape in a working breakfast with Mr. Rafael Catalá, Minister of Justice of Spain on November 25, at the University Club in Washington, District of Columbia.

Asociación de Líderes Hispanos in collaboration with the American Bar Association, Section of International Law hosted this Breakfast titled : “Views on Data-Privacy Protection, Organized International Crime and the Fight Against International Terrorism”.

Spain has had a long history of diplomatic relations with the United States going back to our war for Independence. Today, as a NATO and European Union member, Spain is a strong ally of the United States and shares common interests on security issues among others. The Minister discussed important issues that impact international peace and security and how his government is working to address them. After his speech, the floor was opened to Q&A.

Ambassador of Spain to the U.S., Mr. Ramón Gil-Casares, Spanish Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS), Jorge Hevia, and Lisa Savitt, leader of American Bar Association, Section of International Law attended the meeting, among others.
