Economic Growth through Pan-Hispanic Cooperation: The Emerging Economic Value of Spanish in the U.S.

The International Symposium "Economic Growth through Pan-Hispanic Cooperation: The Emerging Economic Value of Spanish in the U.S." was hold in Chicago on December 8th and 9th.

This conference organised mainly by the Instituto Cervantes and sponsored by the Fundacion Consejo España- EE.UU., studied the challenges and opportunities posed by the rapid demographic change that the U.S. is experiencing by the increase in the Hispanic population and, in particular by the use of Spanish.

The sessions, in which relevant senior officials, cultural institutions, companies and media representatives gathered in Chicago, focussed in the different implications of the growing Hispanic Community: The economic power of Hispanics, Business opportunities, The winning of the Future: Bilingual Education, and Hispanics and the media.
