Hispanic Leaders 2015

One more year the Fundación collaborated with the Fundación Carolina for the visit program of Hispanic Leaders, organized by the latest.

The Fundación Consejo España – Estados Unidos organized one luncheon for the ten young participants on November 20, an event that closed the one week agenda they have had in Spain.

The working lunch took place in Casa de América and gathered some of the members of the Board of the Fundación and the Hispanic Leaders. The Secretary General of the Fundación, Manuel Mª Lejarreta, welcomed both members and participants and celebrated the positives result achieved in strengthening the relationship between Spain and the Hispanic community in the United States. Finally he congratulated Fundación Carolina on the success of the Program.

During the lunch in Casa de America, Mr. Emilio Lamo de Espinosa, former deputy Chairman of the Foundation and Chairman of the Elcano Royal Institute, conversed about the Spanish political and economic evolution from the Democratic Transition to nowadays. This complete speech opened a discussion about the role of the Hispanic communities in the economic, political and social development of the U.S., as well as the presence and endurance of the Spanish as a language.
